Ireland's Biggest GAA Fan - Winners Announced
A WONDERFUL GAA All-Ireland Football Championship season reached a great climax last Sunday when a crowd of 82,204 saw Tyrone win the title at Croke Park. And now the Sunday World reaches its own climax as we announce the winners of our Vodafone Biggest GAA Fan Competition.
And much like the superbly-contested game between Tyrone and Kerry, which remained in doubt right up to the final minute, our competition was close to the very end.
We want to thank all our crazy GAA fans who entered the competition from all across Ireland as we draw the curtain down on a great Championship season.
The Winner
However, after much consideration, Anthony O'Rourke from Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, has been crowned Ireland's Biggest GAA fan after emerging as the strongest candidate.
Anthony, a well-known GAA supporter in the area, walks away with a fabulous prize - a family holiday to New York!
Runner Up
In second place is Tom Hutch from Tralee, Co. Kerry.
Tom has won two VIP tickets to the Vodafone GAA All Stars Awards on October 17 in Dublin's Citywest Hotel and an overnight stay in the hotel.
Five Runners Up
And, finally, we are happy to announce the five runners-up to our Biggest GAA Fan who will each pick up a high-end, multimedia handset with thanks to Voadafone. They are:
- Dolores O'Brien Power from Waterford;
- John Hardiman from Offaly;
- Bridie Fitzgerald from Kerry;
