THE Commandos experienced a first at a neighbour of The Candy. This pub is a little more than a stone's throw from the first pit stop and the young gun was taken aback with the signs on the toilet doors.

The usual titles like ladies and gents, boys and girls or fir agus mná were out the window. In their place were the rather quaint Molls and Mobsters. This set the tone for a bit of light-hearted banter and a few pints of creamy porter.

The décor in the bar and lounge is wonderfully tasty, bright and breezy and very clean.

If you had nothing better to do in the clean toilets where the only litter was an empty fag box that was abandoned on a sink, you could read a list of the world's smartest lies. These included: The doctor will call you right back'and 'This won't hurt a bit'.

The pint got the thumbs up.
